  • What inspired you to start coaching? Are there future plans?
My journey through the challenges of the creative industry inspired me to start coaching. I realized that many creatives struggle in silence with similar issues. My coaching is driven by a desire to help creatives navigate these challenges, using the insights and lessons I've learned along the way. For now, the focus is on quality over quantity. I'm keeping the programs small - 10 students for 'Refocus' and 20 for 'AMA Mastermind.' It's about ensuring personalized attention and real results. As for future plans, we're always looking to refine and enhance the experience based on student feedback and success stories.
  • What if I miss a coaching session?
No worries. Every session is recorded and made available for replay. This means you can always catch up on what you missed and revisit sessions to reinforce your learning. If you miss a personal coaching session, we just reschedule, although the schedule is tighter. We solve this together, and I use Calendly to help the power and streamline this process. Recorded sessions allow you to revisit our discussions at your own pace. This is particularly helpful for absorbing complex ideas or revisiting strategies we've discussed. It ensures that no valuable insight is lost and you can fully leverage the learning from each session.
  • How are the 'Refocus' and 'AMA Mastermind' programs different?
In short, 'Refocus' is personalized one-on-one coaching, while 'AMA Mastermind' centers around group coaching dynamics. The 'Refocus' program is tailored for those who are ready to dive deep into their creative and business challenges. It's intensive and personal, offering rapid progress for those who are prepared to engage fully and honestly. This program is ideal if you're seeking immediate results and personal attention and are willing to explore your challenges on a profound level. Every session in 'Refocus' is an opportunity to confront and conquer the hurdles that stand in your way, with me guiding you at every step. On the other hand, 'AMA Mastermind' is designed to foster gradual growth, leveraging the power of community and shared experiences. It's a space where collective learning and individual contribution come together, creating a unique dynamic that benefits all members. This program is perfect if you're looking for a supportive group setting where you can ask anything, share your insights, and learn from the experiences of fellow creative entrepreneurs. It's a nurturing environment where members encourage and challenge each other, facilitating growth over time. Both programs include 90-minute sessions recorded via Zoom, so you'll always have access to the insights shared, even if you miss a live session. And as a bonus, joining 'Refocus' automatically grants you access to the 'AMA Mastermind' program, providing the best of both worlds - intensive personal coaching and the rich, collaborative experience of group coaching.
  • Are your coaching sessions structured or more conversational?
It's a blend of both. While there's a framework to ensure we cover essential topics, I prefer a conversational style. I do a lot of listening before advising. The goal is to make you prioritize your struggles and find solutions that work for you. There's almost a sixth sense for this stuff anymore. My years of experience in video production and running creative businesses inform every coaching session. I understand the unique challenges creatives face – from valuing your work to managing client relationships. Each session is tailored to address these specific needs, ensuring you get the most out of our time together.
  • How important is goal setting in your coaching, and how do you approach it?
Goal setting is vital. It provides direction and focus. My approach is to work with clients to set realistic yet challenging goals, breaking them down into actionable steps. We regularly review these goals to ensure they remain aligned with personal and business growth. Balancing creativity with business demands is a common struggle. I help clients develop systems and processes that streamline the business side, allowing them more freedom to focus on their creative work. It's about finding that sweet spot where creativity and business efficiency coexist.
  • How do I know if I'm the right fit for your coaching program?
I emphasize 'action over inspiration' because real growth happens through doing, not just dreaming. While inspiration is the spark, action is the fuel that drives progress. My coaching pushes clients to take actionable steps towards their goals, ensuring continuous growth and development. My coaching isn't for everyone. It's for those who are action-oriented, have a learner's mindset, and are committed to growth. If you're ready to tackle challenges head-on and are earning at least $50K in revenue, you're likely a good fit. Also this isn't the average "coaching program" focused on numbers. We only accept through a waiting list and after we have a free session to make sure we're a good fit together. Great coaching is pressure-free.
  • What's unique about your coaching style?
I bring a mix of personal experience, honesty, and a focus on action. I'm here to offer kind but truthful insights and create a comfortable space for tough conversations. It's about finding solutions within yourself, and I'm here to guide you through that process. Client feedback is crucial. Since starting in 2020, I've adapted and evolved my coaching based on honest conversations and feedback. This ensures that the coaching remains relevant, effective, and aligned with my students' needs.
  • What can I expect to gain from your coaching programs?
Sometimes creatives are fantastic on the creative side but struggle on the business side. You're not alone. Many creatives excel in their art but hit roadblocks in business aspects like client negotiations, setting up systems, and long-term planning. My approach is to work with you to develop these skills, ensuring you get the respect and opportunities your creativity deserves. In my coaching programs, whether it's the personalized 'Refocus' or the community-driven 'AMA Mastermind,' expect a journey of self-discovery and practical solutions. I'm all about actionable insights, not just inspiration. You'll gain clarity on your brand, improve communication skills, and learn to tackle challenges in your creative business. As a coaching student, you get free access to resources from Theal, covering topics like pre-production, pitching, and discovery calls. It's not just about the sessions; it's about providing a comprehensive learning experience.
  • What's the most common challenge your clients face, and how do you address it?
A common challenge is undervaluing their work and capabilities. I address this by helping them recognize their worth, improve their negotiation skills, and implement systems that reflect their true value. It's about shifting the mindset from creator to confident business owner. My personal journey through various creative ventures has taught me valuable lessons about resilience, adaptability, and the importance of clear communication. These experiences directly influence my coaching, as I aim to impart these lessons to help others navigate their creative and business journeys. One of my favorite success stories from a videographer, struggling with pricing and client management. Through our sessions, he gained the confidence to charge what he's worth, leading to a significant increase in his project fees and improved client interactions. It's rewarding to see such tangible progress.
